Hey hey! It’s time for a little What’s Working Wednesday! This is just a quick collection of a few things that are helping me live a more intentional life. This month we’re covering spiritual health, physical heath, and maybe even mental health.
1. First5: This is an awesome new app created by Lysa TerKeurst and Proverbs 31 Ministries. The app creates a practical way for women to put God first. You set your alarm inside the First5 app. When your alarm goes off in the morning, you swipe the notification to turn it off and it opens a quick, 5 minute devotional. It allows you to spend a few minutes meditating in God’s Word before you check email or Facebook. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and I really love it! There are many additional features in the app that are great, but I’m especially loving one called “More Moments.” I receive a More Moments reminder at 3:00 each day with some additional content around the scripture I read that morning. It helps me pause in the middle of the afternoon and spend a few minutes with Jesus. It’s free to download so check it out!
2. Barre3 Online: I’ve been a Barre3 fan and customer for about two years now. I love the in-studio workouts, but decided a few months ago that the monthly membership didn’t make sense in our budget. I decided to move to their online option for at-home workouts and so far I’m really liking it. They have so many options – 10, 30, 40, 60 minute intervals. Basically, it leaves you with no excuse not to work out. With a 10 minute option I can no longer say, “Well I just don’t have time.” It’s a much more cost-effective way for me to do the workouts that I love. I think you would love it too.
3. The Skimm: A friend of mine recently recommended this super fun way to stay up to date on current events. The Skimm is a daily email that simply covers the days most important news in a way that makes you smart enough to carry on conversation without overwhelming you with information. Simply put, they help you filter out all of the noise so that you can digest what you really need to know. I guarantee their editorial comments will make you laugh a little too. They also provide a way for you to “Skimm” 2016 Presidential candidates, which I’ve found to be really helpful.
What’s working for you right now? I would love to hear your ideas!
