It’s hard to believe that we’re already more than a week into 2016! I love this time of year for so many reasons. The weather, for one, but I also love hearing and reading about everyone’s resolutions and goals for the new year. One of my absolute favorite things is to hear about what reading goals people have, and what they plan on reading.
I know that reading brings joy to my life, but I’ve discovered that without intention it simply doesn’t happen. It’s difficult to work reading into the normal flow of life, and it’s easy for me to make excuses not to spend my time doing it.
So, since I know that setting specific goals and structure around something I want to accomplish is essential to me actually doing it, I have set a specific reading goal for 2016. The goal is to read 30 books this year, with a stretch goal of three per month. My friends and I have started a book club, so that will help tremendously. I also created a list of 30 books I hope to read. This will make choosing the next book super easy. Plus, I love books and lists so making a list of books sounded like a fantastic idea!
I’m sure this list will change some as I get into the year, but it’s a fun place to start. Let me know your thoughts if you’ve read some of these, or if I should add something to my list.
P.S. Each book is linked if you want to know more or check it out for yourself.
