Since I started this journey of living more intentionally I’ve had to make a lot of changes. These changes greatly effected my habits and lifestyle, but they are essential to living the significant life I am longing for. Along the way I’ve started using some new products and processes that have helped tremendously, and I thought I’d pass them along to you. I hope you find them helpful!
1. Capsule Wardrobe: I did my first capsule in March and just created my second one last week. I love it and it’s making my life so much simpler. The Capsule Wardrobe was originated by Project 333 with the idea of making our clothing decisions easier. Instead of having a packed closet, you pair down your wardrobe to 33 essential pieces that are appropriate for that season, including shoes and accessories. When I made my first capsule I gave A TON of clothes away and packed everything else away in our dresser. When it was time for my summer capsule I simply pulled out my summer clothes and traded them out for items that were no longer seasonally appropriate. This has made deciding what to wear each morning a breeze and I actually wear everything in my closet. Now other people are able to wear and enjoy the pieces that I was saving for “maybe someday”.
2. Day Designer: I know, I know, paper planners are so old school. But I’m here to tell you they are making a come back! For months I was feeling really scattered. I had a work calendar, a personal calendar, a work to-do list, a personal to-list and even a separate meal planning notepad. Things I needed to get done kept slipping through the cracks leaving me stressed and overwhelmed. I needed a way to consolidate all of those things into one place, and the Day Designer has done just that. I can easily keep track of the most important things I need to get done that day, my meals plans, my budget and it even has a place for reflection and gratitude. It has helped me become more focused and intentional with my time. You should check it out!
3. Power Sheets: Lara Casey’s Power Sheets have revolutionized how I approach goal setting. I’ve never been great at setting goals and sticking to them. The goals themselves were usually too big and I never had a plan for actually getting them done. In January I ordered the Power Sheets and that has all changed. This process walks you through a rather intense time of reflection and priority setting for your life. After this, you determine your goals for the year and every month you break those things down into goals for the month, goals for the week and goals for each day. It helps you break down big goals into smaller, more manageable action steps. This process is not only helping me accomplish big goals but actually change my lifestyle. I would definitely recommend these for women searching for help to make their big ideas happen.
I hope these ideas help you live a more intentional and significant life! What’s working for you right now?
